Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
