NFL Roundup: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach stated following the contest.
